What would you do if you lifted a beautiful golden chalice up to your lips for a sip and a fish jumped out of it? You’d probably jump with surprise yourself! Life is full of surprises, good and bad. This week we think the surprises will be positive, lacking in harm, of a joyful perhaps inspirational nature. Maybe you’ll be graced with an inspirational idea, a new friendship, or something spontaneous and unusual, quite unexpected. Don’t be alarmed. You’re on steady ground (the rolling waves are behind you) and you can handle a bit of frivolity right now.

Weekly Tarot Card – The Emperor
There he sits, the wise Emperor, on his throne of stone with the figurines of rams standing guard. He might have a long white beard but his cloak of red hearkens to his vitality and readiness to impart to us all that he has experienced and learned in his many years of ruling. His alert eyes aren’t about to let anything get by him. This is a great card to pull early on in the new year. We are at the start of our plans, resolutions, implementation of new ideas. The Emperor reminds us to build carefully and to put our emphasis on building strong foundations for stability and longevity.
Weekly Tarot Card – The Magician Reversed
This week we bid farewell to 2018 and say hello to 2019. Many seize the “new year” as the time to re-boot their lifestyle options putting into place healthy diets, fitness routines, short term and long term goals/projects. The energy is bright, positive and persuasive. “This time, this time, it will work, I’ll finally take off those extra ten pounds.” The reversed Magician encourages us to acknowledge that we hold the tools of manifestation at our grasp. Dream big, plan well and make your requests. The universe is listening and hears EVERYTHING! Wishing you a happy new year. Namaste.
Weekly Tarot Card – Four of Pentacles Reversed
What a perfect card to pull for the week ushering in Christmas and the end of 2018. Normally we see this kingly fellow sitting in front of his kingdom holding down his material possessions. He is the picture of stability, his resources under his feet. in his hands and crowning his crown. However upside down he looks a little panicked and the stability and foresight has turned into grabbing and miserliness. When I pulled the card and saw this picture, the first thing I did was go to my favorite charity and give a gift. I hope you’ll do the same. Money is good, stability is important, and shepherding one’s resources is a necessary part of life. BUT as that famous sage Dolly Levi of Thornton Wilder’s classic play, “The Matchmaker” (basis for the well-known musical “Hello Dolly”) says, “Money, pardon the expression, is like manure. It’s not worth a thing unless it’s spread around, encouraging young things to grow.” Money, possessions, resources, love–it’s all good to spread around.
Weekly Tarot Card – Knight of Pentacles Reversed
The Knight of Pentacles has some very good qualities. He is reliable and persevering and doesn’t give up when the going gets tough. Sure he might not be the most exciting fellow but who would you rather have on your team in an episode of “Survivor”…Am I right? This week you may feel like running away from making those last finishing touches on a project at work, or finishing wrapping the gifts for under the tree in your Christmas celebration. Stick with it and call on the energy of this steadfast knight who offers the golden coin of opportunity. He is a workhorse like the gorgeous stallion he sits upon, ready, able and willing to carry you forward.
