Weekly Tarot Card – King of Swords

He sits on a throne of stone adorned with butterfly and crescent moon carvings. They appear to be in contrast to his stern glaze and the double edged sword he holds upright in his right hand of action. Or, are they? This is a king who rules with his mind. He sees clearly and is decisive based on reasoned fairness. He does not allow his emotions to cloud his judgment, although by the look of his tilted sword and his robes of blue he acknowledges that mercy and compassion are necessary to temper the severity of the intellect in action. He sits on a verdant precipice–he is not afraid of what lies ahead for his way will nurture and give protection to new beginnings and the evolution of goodness.

Weekly Tarot Card – King of Cups Reversed

IMG_0846I like how the King is a bit askew in this upside down position here. It points to what happens when this usually emotionally intelligent ruler is off his game. This week with the start of Mercury in Retrograde expect bosses to erupt when their flights get cancelled, professors to act as if they got up on the wrong side of the bed. That usually calm and collected sensitive authoritarian in your life is grasping for equanimity and it’s time to duck if you’re in the vicinity.

Of course the unbalanced authoritarian could be you. If that’s the case, count to ten A LOT and reach for compassion and patience. Even reaching is a good strategy to curb knee-jerk reactions.

Weekly Tarot Card – Judgement Reversed

IMG_0805.jpegAre you too hard on yourself? Are you hard on others? Watch your judgment meter this week and remember that the best reckoning is partnered with compassion and mercy. Although the Angel Gabriel who blows his horn to call all to come to terms with their conscience is upside down his direct gaze pierces our heart and reminds us to welcome a repentant nature with the knowledge that coming to terms is not always easy. Namaste.

Weekly Tarot Card – The Empress Reversed

IMG_0525It’s raining manna from heaven as we see beautiful stalks of wheat grace the sky portion of this reversed card. The Empress reclines on her luxurious cushions in the midst of verdant forest and farmed landscape. She is the symbol of lush life–everything she touches turns to beautiful growth. Abundance, creativity, love of nature and all things beautiful are hers to offer. The message in this reversal is to nurture yourself this week. Give love and compassionate care to yourself because as you blossom under your self-loving care so will others.
