White for purity, red for vitality, the four tools of tarot energy–cup, pentacle, sword and wand. Let’s make a garden of beautiful flowers and travel together in a world of light. We’ve got the power!

There he sits, the wise Emperor, on his throne of stone with the figurines of rams standing guard. He might have a long white beard but his cloak of red hearkens to his vitality and readiness to impart to us all that he has experienced and learned in his many years of ruling. His alert eyes aren’t about to let anything get by him. This is a great card to pull early on in the new year. We are at the start of our plans, resolutions, implementation of new ideas. The Emperor reminds us to build carefully and to put our emphasis on building strong foundations for stability and longevity.
Whenever I pull a Major Arcana card reversed I tend to interpret the reversal as a call to take the message of the card inwards. We know the Major Arcana is a group in the tarot deck having to do with great life lessons. Â Therefore it stands to reason that the reversal points to an internal focus rather than the customary delays or postponements of everyday situations. Perhaps there is a resistance or lack of awareness of a certain energy or practice. The High Priestess sits on her throne wearing beautiful blue robes the color of spiritual knowledge. She guards the veil to the unknown and those wishing to see beyond are instructed to look within. And so I dedicate 5-10 minutes daily THIS WEEK to meditate and listen to my inner voice. If I don’t hear anything I will look for signs in other phenomena. I will abide within and wait upon my soul. For the High Priestess encourages me with her mystical gaze to peer within for the answers I long to find. Will you join me in this practice?
