Weekly Tarot Card – Death

A skeleton clad in black armor sits astride a beautiful white horse. They are walking over the people, a member of royalty, a bishop. a woman and her child. Death comes to the high and the low and does not discriminate. The Messenger of Death carries a black flag with a five pointed white star on it. Five is the number of change. The white star of purity against the blackness of death signals change and transformation. All things change–relationships, jobs, life. Nothing is forever. Except the soul. It is good to acknowledge when systems no longer serve their usefulness or purpose, they must be allowed to die. With a death comes the hope of a new beginning.

Weekly Tarot Card – Two of Cups Reversed

img_0183Perhaps there’s a snag in that great new romance. Or maybe your work partner and you are not seeing eye to eye on a particular issue. Something is in the air and it isn’t very pleasant. When the waters of emotion were flowing and all was in perfect alignment the world was rosy and happily ever after seemed more real than a fairy tale. But reality has its ups and downs and the nature of relationship is just that…relating. We need to find alignment in our misalignment. There are times when we will see the other’s point of view and perhaps that will cause us to adjust ours. And other times when we see their point of view and choose to stick with ours. This exercise is a lesson in the art of acceptance, of when to choose battles and when to raise the chalice to toast another day. This week choose to work through the challenges with the vision of a perfect union as inspiration.

And you will have plenty of opportunity to do so. Remember, we are in the thick of holiday season and there’s a lot of shtuff going around. Kings are rulers with authority gained from experience. Cups are emotions and relationships. This king has control of his emotions and rules with compassion and heart. This week step back and resist reactive behavior. Seek to understand why you are feeling your feelings before you act out on them. You will return to balance and ride the waves of emotions with aplomb just like the King of Cups when he is turned right-side up.
