Weekly Tarot Card – Six of Swords

A mother and child sit huddled in a boat. Seven swords stand upright in front of them. Swords represent mind and thoughts signifying their victim mindset. They are trapped by their fears and doubts based on their past and present circumstances. HOWEVER, the oarsman is rowing the boat from troubled waters to smooth waters. The vista ahead is a lovely group of islands with clumps of feathery trees. In order to see the bright vision ahead it is sometimes necessary to leave the troubled past behind. This takes some faith and a hopeful mindset. Flip the switch and allow your mind to embrace magical thinking.

Traveling through smoother waters

Bringing along the water theme for another week we have a fellow rowing a woman and her little one to greener pastures. They seem to be traveling from rough waters to smoother waters, an auspicious direction. We take heart in the fact that nothing stays the same and even if you feel blocked or trapped in an unhappy situation there are those around who can help. Perhaps the question(s) here is/are what is standing in your way? Are you holding onto old patterns of thought, belief, behavior because that is customary and what you expect? Or can you allow yourself to get beyond these paradigms that have never been and certainly are not useful now to dream/see/envision a new and better way? You might think you need an oarsman but what if you are your own oarsman?

We thought we needed them for protection. But they are barriers to the great wide future. It’s time now to release the attitudes, behaviors, and thoughts that hold us back.  Yes, it’s sad to bid farewell. But honestly, are our attachments ever really our friends?
