Weekly Tarot Card – Three of Swords
Storm clouds, pelting rain, three swords stuck through a plump, red heart. This is not a good harbinger for the upcoming Valentine’s Day! In Tarot, swords represent the element of air, thus thoughts, words, communication in general. If you’ve been hurt by someone’s words or if you’ve been the one to lash out, now is the time to come to terms and reconcile. Swords are double-edged–they can vanquish and save the day or they can wreak havoc and destruction. Consider the effect of your words. What kind of communication do you think fosters best results? If you’ve been hurt, try to forgive and move on (it’s best for you to let it go). Maybe try not to take things so personally–we all have our moments. And if you are hurling invective into your universe, check your attitude. There may be better ways for you to communicate your needs. The good news is that storms don’t last forever. The sun will come out and even perhaps a rainbow.
Weekly Tarot Card – Six of Swords
Bringing along the water theme for another week we have a fellow rowing a woman and her little one to greener pastures. They seem to be traveling from rough waters to smoother waters, an auspicious direction. We take heart in the fact that nothing stays the same and even if you feel blocked or trapped in an unhappy situation there are those around who can help. Perhaps the question(s) here is/are what is standing in your way? Are you holding onto old patterns of thought, belief, behavior because that is customary and what you expect? Or can you allow yourself to get beyond these paradigms that have never been and certainly are not useful now to dream/see/envision a new and better way? You might think you need an oarsman but what if you are your own oarsman?
Weekly Tarot Card – Four of Cups
Here we have a young fellow sitting in meditation under a tree (which reminds us of another young fellow ages ago who sat under a tree to receive enlightenment). The leaves of the tree seem to be pointing down to where he sits in a posture of defiance. His arms are not in the customary openness we are used to seeing in meditators. They are folded across his chest as if to protect his heart from opening. He gazes down and whether or not he is in deep meditation, we feel he does not “see” the divine hand shrouded in the heavenly clouds which offers him a beautiful golden cup. Where are your wishes coming from? Are they divinely inspired? Do you believe that goodness is yours? Are you opening yourself to the goodness which is yours? Or do you hold yourself in doubt and fear, resisting to look upwards in yourself? There is much sorrow and devastation in the world right now. We are called more strongly to hold ourselves in the light and like this young man relax our arms, open our heart path; perhaps we will witness and take hold of the offered cup and drink its goodness. And would this usher in a life of abundance where cups abound? For we can see there are three others standing in readiness for acceptance and exaltation.
Weekly Tarot Card – Knight of Cups
A handsome knight on a white horse offers a golden chalice. Is it filled with a love potion? He is ready to cross the stream to your side where desert mountains loom large. He offers the comfort of heart flow, love and the trust of a good friend. Being that he wears red fish on his cloak we think he might be an artist, perhaps a musician or painter. And even if this is just a dream isn’t it nice to enjoy the prospect of love in your life?
